A Brief History of Marketing

If you are curious about the philosophies I've introduced so far regarding the noosphere, GAIA Hypothesis and GAIA Mythos, please review the linked articles from Week 1.

Material I'm introducing from here on will explore them further, but through my lens of perception - which is currently hyper-focused on communication. Your collective feedback will be influencing my continued production of these presentation materials, thank you in advance for questions and observations!

For Week 2, please dedicate at least 15-20 minutes to the first part of this four-part BBC Series titled The Century of Self.

The purpose of viewing this is to introduce you to the tactics employed in effective mass-communication since the 1920's. These have influenced consumer behaviors such as consumer habits and perception for nearly 100 years.

Please bring your thoughts and questions with you for discussion over dinner next Wednesday.

Speaking of which, what sounds better--fire-roasted peppers and eggplant with a slow-cooked tomato sauce (and cheese option) or potato-leek-carrot soup? That second could also become a pot-pie with non-gluten stew option.

The Dynamic Overview Presentation of this project

Please keep in mind, it's "in-progress." I will be working on it over the course of this project as our discussions provide reflection and direction for it.

Your feedback and inquiry are encouraged.

You are Invited! - update

Only room for 2 more students!

If you are a computer science or consciousness studies student, you're wanted all the more.

This is a collaborative discovery group meeting once a week for an hour at my home (down the road from the Organic Farm) or at a location on campus, for 7 weeks. The research outside of the meeting is totally voluntary, but encouraged. I'll provide suggested reading each week based on different aspects of the noosphere theory and related material including a bit about the history of marketing, and related philosophy to communication based on self-determined goals.

Below I've listed many of the links to reading about the subject. Feel free to skim them, or more--they are provided for your deeper inspection.

My aim is to do the following:
2 - Talk about the GAIA Hypothesis some, as mentioned in some of the noosphere materials. Seeking to observe and talk about nature & the development of social networks.

3 - Discuss the theory that compares the invention of Social Media as a natural evolution or desire of our collective consciousness to want to connect.

4 - Develop effective ways to use Social Media to further our own aims, based on our program focus, and begin networking with people/ organizations/ movements we're interested in helping using what we know.
This serves a couple of purposes. It'll help participants begin establishing a social network prior to graduating in order to help transition into a desired career. Clearer communications based on some of the program values at Evergreen would serve to improve the noosphere.

Reply if you are seriously interested and likely to commit to: coronacommunications@gmail.com no later than Monday, October 6th, only room for 2 more students!
